FAQs

What does the all inclusive tour include?
This tour is fully inclusive, with flights from Perth to our camp location, accommodation, meals, detectors, transport and expert tuition all covered.
Tools supplied: detector, pick, scoop, vial and headphones if required. Please bring gloves if you prefer to use them.

How many people will be in the group?
Each tour is kept to a small group of up to 12 guests, plus the guiding team. The groups are deliberately intimate so everyone gets plenty of support, time on the ground and the chance to form real friendships. Most guests leave with mates they stay in touch with long after the red dirt has washed off
What are the check-in luggage weight restrictions?
Your included fare allows 15kg total, including carry-on. You may purchase additional baggage if required.
Excess baggage is charged at $7.50 per kilo.

How long is the flight from Perth?
Your flight from Perth will take around 2–3 hours, with the exact duration depending on the tour location.

What type of accommodation is provided?
You’ll stay in comfortable hotels or miners’ dongers, depending on the tour location. Rooms are clean, air-conditioned and designed to help you rest well after a full day in the outback. Every guest has their own single room, with doubles available for couples, plus an ensuite and laundry facilities. This isn’t camping — it’s a proper, comfortable base for your adventure.
Are there toilet, shower and laundry facilities?
Yes. At the accommodation, you’ll have access to toilets and showers, and laundry facilities.
What type of food will be provided?
Expect hearty pub-style meals, served by the accommodation providers. Meals are generous, satisfying and well-suited to long days in the field.
Can you cater for dietary needs?
As meals are supplied by the accommodation, dietary requirements cannot be guaranteed.
Do I need to bring my own detector?
No. We supply a variety of the latest Minelab detectors for your use eg. GPX 6000, Gold Monster 2000. As well as all essential prospecting accessories eg. pick, scoop.
Will I find gold?
We give you the very best chance by taking you to hand-picked locations chosen for their potential. Our guides depth of knowledge is unmatched, but success ultimately comes down to technique, persistence and Lady Luck.
Can I keep what I find?
Yes. Your Western Australian Miner’s Right entitles you to keep all gold you find.
Do I need a Miners Right?
Yes. A Western Australian Miner’s Right is required to legally search for and keep gold.
You can purchase one online here for $30 before the tour, or we can take you to buy one on the first day.

What are the expected temperatures?
Expect warm days, cool evenings and classic outback conditions. Daytime temperatures often sit between 18–25°C, with cooler nights.
How long are we out in the field each day?
Expect full days in the field, generally 6–8 hours with regular breaks.
Are alcoholic drinks available?
Alcohol is not included but is available for purchase at most locations.
Do I need travel insurance?
Travel insurance isn’t compulsory, but it is strongly recommended to cover unexpected changes or disruptions.
Will mobile reception be available?
Mobile coverage is generally available in town, but once we’re out in the Goldfields it can be limited. Telstra provides the best coverage in the region, though signal strength varies depending on the terrain.
Do you run tours in bad weather?
We monitor conditions daily and adjust as needed.
Is this tour suitable for everyone?
This tour requires a reasonable level of mobility, as you’ll be walking over uneven ground and handling metal detecting equipment for extended periods.
